When we get to our end of year round-up, looking back at 2020 is like looking back at no other year. This has been an extremely challenging, difficult and heart-breaking year for people all over the globe, young and old. Everyone is well aware of the struggles that people have been going through though, so we’re going to try and look on the brighter side of things with our end of year round up here at APECS.
Like so many others in the industry, we have faced huge challenges this year, but we have been helped to overcome these by our fantastic staff all over the world, from our factories in Asia to our offices, warehouse and workshop in the UK. Our staff have continued to work in the face of adversity to ensure that we are still able to meet our customers’ needs and we'd like to take a moment to say thank you to them all.
Secondly, we’d like to thank all of our customers, new and old who have worked with us through 2020, it’s been a challenging year for the industry and we’d like to take a moment to thank our customers for their continued business this year.
Thirdly, we’d like to say a massive thank you to all of the freighting and shipping companies who have continued to work throughout the pandemic to ensure that the industry is able to keep moving, without them it would have been impossible for industries all over the world to continue.
Finally and most importantly, thank you to all of the front line workers around the globe. Thank you for your commitment, resilience and self-less work throughout 2020.
We were delighted to be able to expand APECS within the UK this year with the addition of a new office, warehouse and workshop space in the West Midlands. The planning for this had been on-going previous to 2020 and we took the decision to push ahead with plans to expand despite the challenging landscape. In doing so, we were delighted to be able to welcome a large number of new members to the APECS team including-
Neil Macleod – Technical Manager
Louise Browne – Administrative Support Manager
Daniel Cunningham – Warehouse Manager
Lucas Zhao – Technical Assistant
With the addition of these staff members, plus the new warehouse and workshop space, we are now better equipped to be able to deal with the increasing demand of our customer base as well as offering key cutting and cylinder repinning services in-house.
This year we have also improved two of our most popular products with huge improvements to both the KM 3*, Sold Secure Diamond Grade AP Cylinder and our standard BC cylinder.
The AP cylinder has been improved with a new modular system allowing for easier repinning and keying alike. Alongside this, the AP cylinder has also been improved with higher precision manufacturing, taking an already high quality euro cylinder to the next level.
Our BC cylinder has also seen large improvements this year with the addition of sacrificial cuts, anti-pick and anti-drill pins, making our hugely popular standard cylinder an even more secure option for those looking for high quality and affordability.
As we approach the end of 2020, it means that we are looking ahead to 2021 and what that has in store for APECS. We’re all very excited about the year ahead with the world hopefully heading back to some level of normality, but we’ve also got some really big things in the pipeline here at APECS.
We will be launching a brand new KM 3* euro cylinder in 2021, so keep your eyes on our website and social media channels over the next few months for updates on that as we approach release.
We will also be expanding the APECS network in the UK with our APECS Prime Centres. These specially selected centres will be stockists of APECS products, officially licensed APECS key cutting centres and will be on hand to provide technical support to customers if and when required. These Prime centres will allow us to meet the ever growing demands of our customers throughout the UK and Ireland. APECS will also be growing internally throughout the year with new additions to our workshop and warehouse to allow us to continue to serve our customers’ needs quickly and to the highest quality possible. With increased key cutting, mastering, repinning and technical support available, APECS is all set for a sustained period of growth throughout 2021.
