It has been another busy month in the APECS office with a whole range of different promotions and activties taking place. We would like to take a moment to send our best wishes and sympathies to all of our staff in China who have been affected by the Coronavirus and we'd also like to wish everyone around the world, the best of health at this difficult time.
SKS Visit
Nik and Natasha took a trip up to the SKS offices in Berkhamsted this month to talk through the range of products which we have available and also to meet with their sales team to discuss goals for 2020.
We also took the time discuss our new APECS Key Secure system with them. This system allows customers to add an extra level of protection for their keys by allowing them to secure each key with a security code. After a customer has their lock installed, they are able to go onto the APECS website and set their own personal security code which will then need to be provided each time new keys are cut.
The visit was very productive and we'd like to thank Mark Gentry for helping to get this together!

Flashback to Russia
February also marked the one year anniversary of Natasha's trip to Russia. Natasha joined APECS in February 2019 and upon joining she was whisked away to Russia to undergo training at the APECS Headquarters in Moscow. During this training, Natasha was able to see the main hub of APECS including the warehouses, R&D labs, design studios and much, much more. The trip also gave Natasha the chance to learn about the history of APECS from the people who started the company.
Reflecting on the trip, Natasha had this to say,
"My trip to Moscow was amazing. The city was beautiful and it great to get the chance to meet some of the team in Russia. It really gave me an insight into just how much of a global company APECS is, as well as appreciating the fact that at the core of it, it is still a family run business with Nik in the UK and his father in Russia."
Product of the Month
Our product of the month for February is the APECS AP Cylinder. The AP is a BSI KM 3*, Sold Secure Diamond Grade cylinder, making it the most secure cylinder available on the UK market. Having first been released into the UK market in 2018, we have continued to make improvements to the cylinder to meet our customers needs.
The AP cylinder has been designed to protect locks from all of the most common forms of attack. Whether someone is attempting to snap, pick, bump, drill or extract the plug, the AP provides the highest level of defence against all of them. The AP features 4 anti-pick pins on either side, a double locking mechanism with track rail pins to prevent bumping and an anti-drill pin on either side.
The AP also features a snap secure sacrificial point on the external side of the cylinder as well as our Patent Pending anti-snap protection. This anti-snap protection means that the lock is still operable from the inside when the lock is snapped externally, meaning that the burglar will not be able to gain entrance to the property, but the homeowner will still be able to use their key to exit.
The AP comes with a 10-year hardware guarantee, as well as a 5-year anti-snap guarantee, meaning that this cylinder has been built to stand the test of time!
